Could I trouble you for the Time?

Could I trouble you for the Time? is een doorlopende installatie waarin tijd opnieuw vorm krijgt. In plaats van klokken die orde opleggen, toont deze installatie apparaten die tijd juist openbreken. Ze meten niet, ze vertellen. Ze nodigen uit om tijd anders te ervaren, traag, intuïtief, gelaagd.

Voor deze editie in Kunsthuis Waterland werkte Ossip samen met Grzegorz Gębski en Halldór Sörli Ólafsson. In gesprekken en gezamenlijke experimenten ontstonden nieuwe ‘tijds vertellers’ [Time-telling devices]. Geur en geluid spelen een belangrijke rol in deze versie van de installatie, geïnspireerd door ‘Scent of Time’ van denker Byung-Chul Han. Ze voegen een poëtische laag toe aan hoe we tijd kunnen waarnemen, los van cijfers en systemen.

De installatie is te beleven van 26 november tot en met 13 december op woensdag tot en met zaterdag van 11:00 tot 16:00 uur.

Op maandag 24 november en dinsdag 25 november bouwen de kunstenaar de installatie op. Kunsthuis Waterland is dan van 13:00 tot 16:00 uur open en je bent welkom om kennis te maken met Ossip, Grzegorz en Halldór.

Could I trouble you for the Time?

Could I trouble you for the Time? is an ongoing installation that seeks to free our sense of time from systems of measurement and control. Reimagining the mechanics of the clock, Ossip creates “time-telling devices” that don’t count or command time, but invite us to feel it; ambiguously, personally, and through the senses.

For this edition at Kunsthuis Waterland, Ossip collaborates with Gregorz Gębski and Halldór Sörli Ólafsson to develop new works through dialogue and shared experimentation. Drawing inspiration from Byung-Chul Han’s The Scent of Time, the installation introduces scent and sound as poetic elements that expand our perception of time beyond the purely visual or mechanical.

The exhibition will be on view from November 26th to December 13th, Wednesdays through Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Extra time!

The artists will be setting up the installation on Monday, November 24th and Tuesday, November 25th. Kunsthuis Waterland will be open from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and you are welcome to meet Ossip, Gregorz and Halldor.
